Its the little things, really.

I love this time of year. With back to back holidays approaching, time with family and friends and lots of traditions to be had—it’s an exciting time! With all the preparation and things to look forward to though, I’ve noticed lately a trend about myself. What I’m learning is that I do a really good job of “holding my breath” in a sense. Making it to the next “big event” in life. Anyone else feel like this? Just make it to vacation next … Continue Reading »

Living in Love

Is anyone else a little speechless with everything that’s been going on the last few weeks? It’s hard to post about the silly or simple things when we live in a world that often times is dark and weary.  I’m not an expert on politics or solving the world’s problems, but what I’ve been thinking of during the last few weeks is how precious life really is and how I can make my mark. Making a conscience decision about how to live my life–in … Continue Reading »

Solo Parenting

Our school year is up and running! It’s been a busy few weeks transitioning into new routines and different school environments, but thankfully, my girls are pretty flexible and have adjusted nicely to all the “newness” of the school year. It’s been on my mind for a while to write a little something about parenting– and in particular “single parenting.” As some of you know, our family spent most of the last school year separated. My husband took a new job about 2 … Continue Reading »

We Made It

After 8 months, our family moved to Atlanta! I posted earlier in April if you missed it, that we had listed our Augusta house for sale again. When people often asked about our timeline, I told them I was hoping and praying to move by June 1st. Well- surprise! It happened way faster than that. We moved May 12th.  Thankfully, within 5 days of listing our house, we had 2 offers! Praise hands all around!! So with a quickened timeline- we packed pretty … Continue Reading »

2 Is The New You!

Today, my littlest girl turns 2. I’m admitting now that since she has no baby book, or for that matter, printed pictures in a real photo album, I’m laying some memories for her, here. #thirdchild (Photo credit-Angel Murphy Photography) To my wild, loud, and tender 2-year-old, Today, I can officially call you a toddler. But you are my baby—the one that will forever be my baby. Below are a few special things about you, from this last year. And also a few things … Continue Reading »

Valentine’s Day Traditions

In honor of Valentine’s day being one week away, I thought I’d go back to last year’s post about what we do as a family to celebrate “love day.” Just to update–our 2017 traditions are underway and this year has been especially fun to read through the hearts that I post on my girls’ doors each morning! My oldest daughter is well aware of this  “heart” routine and anticipates her little piece of adoration each day. While my almost 2-year-old, giggles and points to … Continue Reading »

Hey 2017! {Giveaways Coming At Ya}

Hey 2017! Its been a fun few weeks celebrating Christmas and New Years, but man it feels good to be back into a routine. My daughter literally had the longest winter break ever (21 days off or something crazy like that.) We had such a blast with family, but all of us in my house, were ready to get back to “normal” after the holidays. Angie and I are excited to be blogging again this year! But, before our 2017 posts officially start … Continue Reading »

An Apple A Day

In the midst of the holiday season and staying on top of just “normal life” activities, I’ve realized that my oldest daughter, who is now 5, doesn’t have a lot of structure outside of her school day– before she leaves and after she gets home. I’m a newbie at parenting a school-aged child, and thankfully Macey-my daughter, is more than willing to be my Guinea pig with new strategies or activities I find. A few things about my big girl, Macey- she is … Continue Reading »

A $1 Idea for Kids

A quick post about something awesome for kids that literally costs $1.00. My mom came across these Color and Play coloring books at the Dollar Store a few months ago, and they have been a hit in our house. These coloring books take coloring to a new level—and my kids love it! Kinsey (also Doc McStuffins for the moment, lol) helped me with this post below! Find a picture in the Color and Play book that has a special “star frame” on the … Continue Reading »

For Sale

I still don’t know how all the pieces fit together, but it’s time that my words make it officially on the screen. I’ve been wrestling with this—like I should have complete answers for everything—but I’m still unsure. We are moving. Moving from a place that if I can just pause and say— is precious to us. In an almost impossible and dark situation, Augusta GA has become a sweet gift. God first drew us out of our hometown and into a very unknown … Continue Reading »
