“Big” Girl Toddler Room

Like I said last week, I wanted to share some photos of our daughter’s new “big” girl room. We moved her out of the nursery since it’s already gender neutral and ready to go for this new little one (who will hopefully make his/her appearance any day now!!) I definitely went to town on the girliness of this room because I didn’t get to do anything girly for her baby room–so I let myself have fun! The initial inspiration  for her room started … Continue Reading »

Moving Out & Making a Coffee Table

Hi Everyone! I’m Kayla and I am Angela’s youngest sister! I’ve obviously known Angela my whole life and since her and Liz have been friends since elementary school I’ve pretty much known Liz my whole life too! I’m so excited and thankful they are letting me be a part of their blog today! Two years ago, at the ripe old age of 22, I moved out of my parents house for the first time— this was a HUGE step for me! Once I … Continue Reading »

DIY Sliding Barn Door

I’ve been telling my husband for awhile now that I wanted a barn door into the entryway of our master bathroom. These kind of doors look super cool. But more importantly, they allow for more space in our bathroom. The old door swung into the bathroom so it just made the bathroom feel a little crowded. (See picture below of our bedroom doors before we moved in. Bathroom door is on the right.) I came across barn door plans from Jenna Sue Design Co. … Continue Reading »

Easy To Make Wall Decor

What’s better than spending part of the summer with family and having your mom around to tackle a fun DIY project?! The other day, my mom and I were window shopping at a local antique store and I came across a really pretty wreath. My mom is definitely craftier than me and also likes “projects” a touch more than me too. (just ask my 5 year-old about her and Mimi’s special projects—they have like a million.) One of the reasons I liked this … Continue Reading »

Simple & Cheap Kitchen Backsplash DIY

Almost 2 years ago we moved into our new home knowing that we DID NOT want a lot of “projects.” With our first home, we gave it a nice “makeover.” We also have a lot of friends who have bought homes and have redone most of the interior—all which is super fun! But for us, when we were house shopping in Georgia, we were looking for an updated, low maintenance home. Why? 1) my husband is a resident and works/studies super long hours … Continue Reading »

Magnetic & Chalkboard Space for Little Ones!

When we bought our refrigerator for our new home last July I didn’t think twice about the fact that the front of it was not magnetic.  (Enter my soon to be one year old daughter who LOVES to play with the magnets!) I wanted to have a space for her at our house to play and stick magnets and thankfully, there is an empty space on the end of our kitchen cabinets that was the perfect spot! So I went online and found a … Continue Reading »

Massive Mudroom Makeover!

So this post is a long time coming! We have a really big mudroom area right when you walk in from our garage. Our laundry room is upstairs, but I wanted STORAGE for all our junk when we come in the house!  Instead of paying someone to build custom built-ins for us, we took on the job ourselves! I basically combined a bunch of ideas I found online and created our masterpiece that I LOVE!! One of the many reasons I love it … Continue Reading »

Something Fun Friday

Because it’s the weekend and I’ve been sitting on my hands with this next new idea for a little while…I’m diving in. (Quick confession—I am a jealous school girl when it comes to other people’s ….handwriting! Weird, I know…) One of the things I love about Instagram and Pinterest nowadays are the posts and pins with BEAUTIFUL hand lettering! Lots of us find meaningful words and often repost these special sayings on our own accounts. These verse, quotes and thoughts are encouraging and really … Continue Reading »

Gender Neutral Nursery on a Budget

One of my favorite places in our house is my daughter’s nursery. It is so peaceful and calming to me. We did not know if we were having a boy or a girl so I tried to keep the décor as neutral as possible. The dresser and armoire were both repurposed. The armoire was my husband’s back in high school and I can’t believe I almost got rid of it! I am so glad I didn’t! The dresser is a craigslist find I … Continue Reading »

DIY Farmhouse Table

Ok so I finally bugged my husband enough to help me build a farmhouse table for Thanksgiving! I’m not gonna lie, when we do projects together, they are rough! We fight A LOT, but for some reason we keep doing more! I think it’s the satisfaction of a finished product that keeps us coming back. And the fact that our projects are like free marriage counseling—they bring out all our emotions and then we feel really calm and relieved when it’s over! Anyways, we … Continue Reading »
