What I’ve been loving this month—januaryfavorites

Recipe- These Chicken Gyros have been my favorite go to recipe every week this month. I’m not lying…you’ve gotta try these! The marinade is so good and makes the chicken taste AMAZING. We love any type of Mediterranean food—but this is now one of our favorites! This recipe is pretty light, healthy and easy to make! chicken-gyros-with-tzatziki2+srgb.

Music- We play A LOT of princess music or Disney Pandora stations at our house. We love it, but lately I’ve been trying to be more intentional with what we are listening to–my kids are such sponges. Most nights at dinner this month, the kids and I have been listening to Songs for SaplingsThere is a free playlist– God and creation that we listen to the most! I love it because the music is full of scripture and easy for my kids to remember. The songs share God’s truths and love in a simple way for little ones. I highly recommend checking it out!download (1)

Lip care- I came across some new chapstick that is hands-down one of my new favorite things. Especially with the winter weather, my lips get a beating and are so dry. This ChapStick Total Hydration works! k2-_d25017dd-e6a8-4b81-ad36-15f370798670.v2

Boots-I have a small obsession with these Minnetonka Double-Fringe BootsThey are beyond comfortable— honestly they feel like slippers! Since I’m tall, they have a flat sole as well, which I love. They are casual, but cute, so I like wearing them out!womens-boots-double-fringe-grey-691t_07_1

Kids StuffThis month, my 4-year-old has been LOVING Little Cosmetics Pretend Makeup Essential Set . Playing “make-up” is the peanut-butter to my girl’s jelly. She is so into this set. I’m not sure how she fell in love with it all (especially since I do not wear make-up often) but we are having makeovers day and night at our house lately.51wcSeZ+P1L

PBS World’s Greatest Chef is also a huge hit at our house this month. It’s a little bit of a memory game with a board game combination. As a “chef” the goal of the game is to be the first to gather your ingredients and make your healthy recipe. We play this almost every night and it hasn’t gotten old yet!81df1kFURlL._SL1500_

Verse- “The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”– Proverbs 18:10. At the beginning of the month I found this verse and posted it on my bathroom mirror. A few weeks later, I started a new devotional and the first chapter was focused on the same verse. With all the verses to have on my mirror or find in a new devotional, this was the one. God is MY strong tower–during my fears, doubts, troubles and worries.25-BillF-TowerOfSafety

Blogs- Since starting a blog, I’ve had fun reading and discovering other blogs out there. Two of my favorites right now are Sunny with a Chance of Sprinkles and Carrots’ N’ Cake. Both definitely have different vibes–health and fitness vs. lifestyle and family… but both are really fun to read and get ideas from!

Shows-  Yikes you guys. I am a huge fan of The Bachelor. I have been watching the show for YEARS and always say I am going to stop. Why is it so addicting?? This show is definitely my “trash show.” Other shows I’ve really gotten into this month are Jane the Virgin and Dexter. Angie originally told me about Jane the Virgin and I totally binge watched the first season to catch up. Its cute, funny and a little lovey-dovey–perfect show for me, LOL.  Also, I know we are like 10 years behind but my husband and I started the first season of Dexter this month. The story-line is super intriguing, but confession–there are some intense parts where I have to close my eyes!

What have you been loving this month??
