Home Again With A Side of Coffee & Crackers

And just like that, we are home. Liz and I are back in the good ol’ south and it is soo HOT! I’ve loved the heat in Arizona and Texas, but this kind of humid Georgia heat is by far the most brutal!

It’s good to be back and start settling in though. We already had dinner with Liz’s family last night, and all 4 girls were glad to be reunited and to enjoy some yummy popsicles.

One last hometown favorite I had to share with you all is our family’s infamous Coffee & Crackers! Before I left Ohio, my mom made Elaina give it a try!

My mom’s great-grandmother— “Big Mama” (how awesome is that name?!)  actually started doing this a LONG time ago for breakfast, haha!

Now, its a family tradition! The dish is really simple! Basically you poor coffee over crackers and mash them up. (I know it sounds gross but it is seriously SO GOOD!)

When we make it, we like to add vanilla creamer to the coffee first and use the Keebler Clubhouse crackers. You can make it as mushy or crunchy as you want! And, if you can get past the look, you will love the taste— so try it!!

Austin and I have been getting unpacked and I’m glad to be back with him. This morning, we went to Costco, lunch, and then visited a local bookstore. Overall its been a fun day! I love these two so much and am thankful we are all back together!
